Big Bear for Presidents

You got to get out of Los Angeles and get to some fresh air in Big Bear for Presidents weekend. Big Bear is a blast for the longer 3 day weekends. This year this hot weekend is February 17-20, 2012 You can pop up on Friday and get 3 nights and 3 days of skiing and riding at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain resorts. All our Big Bear lodging is close to the two ski resorts which are only 1 mile apart and connected by a free shuttle. Snow Summit is a bit closer to the Big Bear Village, and Bear Mountain is closer to shopping center and additional restaurants, as well as the kids zoo. It is also a bit quieter. As for skiing and riding, Snow Summit is a great mixed use mountain and Bear Mountain really concentrates more on snowboarding, terrain parks and freestyle riding. Families tend to favor starting at Snow Summit which has the longest runs and a more wide range of terrain. Bear Mountain is favored by snowboarders, but skiers find it fun because the views are so spectacular.
